Camelback Mountain, situated at Echo Canyon Recreation Area, 4925 E. McDonald Dr., is the perfect spot for a day hike, whether you’re looking to make it more challenging or not. There are plenty of beginner-friendly trails that circle around Camelbacks base and if those don’t work out, then just head up Cholla Trail, which has an easier grade but still offers stunning views along AZ’s most famous landmark.
To avoid the heat, hike Camelback Mountain early in the morning or later after 12 noon. Before attempting to summit any mountain, make sure you have plenty of water and sunscreen for your skin type.

However, this experience may not be suitable if you are faint-hearted or unable in general physical activities like hiking; however, one can always take guided tours where they will provide all gear needed as opposed to just getting their hands dirty with carrying everything themselves.
Hikers are advised to bring their camera with them when they visit Camelback Mountain because the views from its summit and along any route are worth taking a snapshot or two. Visitors also warn that you should expect lots of other people on hiking trails which are shared with other hikers.
